Every year, dozens of single people and couples throughout Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, East Anglia and the East Midlands region foster children, who can no longer be brought up by their birth parents. The children in our care need people like you to give them love, security, trust and a stable, safe home environment whilst they are unable to live with their own families.

You might think that becoming a foster carer is too difficult, or that you’ll be turned down based on your age or particular circumstances. Misconceptions often stop people taking the next step and going on to foster when in reality, a large percentage of people we assess go on to become foster carers and have children placed with them.

Whether you’re making initial enquiries about fostering, or looking to take the next steps and perhaps begin your application, we can provide you with more in-depth information.

For more, contact Peterborough Fostering on (01733) 317427 or email wanttofoster@peterborough.gov.uk.

The Fostering team run sessions throughout the year aimed to help prospective carers learn more about the fostering process, meet with existing carers and members of the Fostering team who will be available to answer any questions you may have.
